We’ve been taught to fear inflammation. To suppress it. To shut it down before it flares.

But this instinct is wrong and costly.

Inflammation is how the body starts repair. It breaks damaged tissue apart. It activates immune traffic. It sends stem cells moving.

No inflammation means no rebuild.

The problem isn’t inflammation.

The problem is what happens after.

If inflammation resolves quickly, the system moves into regrowth and remodeling.

If it lingers, damage accumulates and tissues stay stuck in limbo.

Aging is not inflammation.

Aging is unresolved inflammation.

Protocol

Trigger, then resolve.

Here’s how to use inflammation on purpose, and ensure it clears:

  1. Acute Cold-Heat Contrast (3x/week)

    • Heat phase: 15–20 minutes in sauna or hot bath (body temp to 38–39°C [101–102°F])

    • Cold phase: 2–3 minutes in cold plunge or shower (<16°C [60°F]))

    • Repeat x2 cycles if possible

  2. Movement immediately after

    • 10–15 minutes of light movement (walking, bodyweight flow, or cycling)

    • Supports lymphatic clearance and resolution signaling

  3. No anti-inflammatories (12–24h post)

    • Avoid NSAIDs, turmeric, high-dose antioxidants right after, they interrupt the cascade

This primes short-term inflammation, then helps the body complete the full repair loop.

The flame was never the problem. The failure to extinguish it was.
